Applications for the scholarship are now open Future Female Founder

Only about 30 percent of Sweden’s entrepreneurs are women, which is lower than the EU average. Since 1980, that percentage has increased by only one percentage point. Froda established the scholarship in 2022 to help bring about change and give more women the opportunity to bring their business ideas to life.

‍

The scholarship is awarded to a female entrepreneur each year. Past winners include Miranda Matti (Lexflix), Janna Naser (Alga Insulations), Linda Alexandersson (Maybe Baby), and Sakina Turabali (Trustberry).

‍

“Sweden has come a long way in terms of gender equality, but women’s entrepreneurship is lagging behind. We’re still below the EU average. The next generation of entrepreneurs needs both the courage to take the plunge and role models to draw inspiration from. With this scholarship, we want to give women the support they need to turn their ideas into reality,” says Olle Lundin, CEO and co-founder of Froda.

‍

Anyone who has started a business after January 1, 2026, or plans to do so within a year is eligible to apply for the scholarship. The application period runs from November 1 to December 31, 2026, and the winner will be announced at an awards ceremony in March 2027.
