Who can open a savings account?

Private individuals over 18 years of age who reside in Sweden and have a Swedish bank account.

What is Froda's savings interest rate?

The savings interest rate depends on the type of savings account you have and will be displayed when you open the account. For savings accounts with variable interest rates, the interest rate can be adjusted both upwards and downwards. For fixed-rate savings accounts, the interest rate remains the same throughout the term. You can view the current interest rate on our website or on the My Pages section.

How do I open a savings account?

What happens to the money when the term of my fixed-rate savings account expires?

At the end of the term, your savings account will switch to a variable interest rate. Your money, including earned interest, will then be available for withdrawal. If you want to continue with a fixed-rate savings account, you need to create a new savings account with the desired term and transfer the money to the new account.

Do I need to pay tax on my earned interest?

Yes, when the interest is capitalized, a withholding tax of 30% is deducted, which Froda reports to the Swedish Tax Agency. You don't need to do anything.

Can I view transactions for a closed account?

Yes, if you log in to My Pages, you can select “show closed accounts” and then click on the account you want to see transactions for.

How do I open a savings account?

You can open a savings account by logging in with BankID here.

How do I close my savings account?

Go to My Pages and open your account overview. From there, you can click on your account and then close your account.

I have a savings account with Froda through Avanza, how does it work?

The funds in a Savings Account + Froda that are distributed through Avanza Bank are held with Froda, just like our other savings accounts. If you have savings accounts with Froda both directly and through Avanza, the total amount in your accounts is combined, and the combined amount is covered by the deposit guarantee limit of SEK 1,050,000.

Why do I need BankID to open an account?

We need to verify your identity when you open an account, and we use BankID as a solution to do so.

Can I open a savings account without BankID?

No, you need to have BankID to open a savings account. Read about how to get a BankID here.

How do I log in to my savings account?

You can log in to your savings account by identifying yourself with BankID here.

Can I open a joint savings account?

No, Froda only allows one account holder per savings account.

Is there an annual fee for my savings account?

No, there is no annual fee for any of our savings accounts.

Does it cost anything to open a savings account?

No, there is no cost to open a savings account.

Can I open multiple savings accounts?

Yes, you can open multiple savings accounts.

When do I get access to my earned interest?

Your earned interest is deposited into your account on December 31st each year, as well as when the account is closed if you have a savings account with a variable interest rate. For fixed-rate savings accounts, the earned interest is paid out when the account's term expires or when the account is closed.

How will I be informed about changes to interest rates or fees?

How do I deposit money into my savings account?

Make deposits via bankgiro to 652-5125 using your Froda account number as the OCR/reference.

Can I make multiple deposits to my savings account?

It depends on whether you have a savings account with variable or fixed interest. Savings accounts with variable interest have unlimited deposits. For savings accounts with fixed interest, you can only make one deposit when the account is opened. If you want to make multiple deposits to a fixed-interest account after you have opened an account, you can open a new account with the desired term. If you try to make additional deposits to an account with fixed interest, the money will either be placed in a savings account with variable interest or paid back to your registered withdrawal account.

How much can I save with Froda?

The maximum amount, including accrued interest, that can be held in the account is limited to SEK 1,150,000. If your balance exceeds this amount, the excess will automatically be paid out to your designated withdrawal account.

Can I deposit funds in currencies other than SEK?

No, you can only make deposits in SEK to our savings accounts.

How long can I wait to deposit money after opening a savings account?

The first deposit must be made within 14 days from the day the account was opened.

How long does it take before my deposit appears in my savings account?

You can normally see the deposit in your account within 1-2 banking days.

Is there a maximum limit on how much I can deposit?

Yes, the maximum amount you can deposit is SEK 1,150,000.

Withdrawal

What type of account can be used as a withdrawal account?

Your withdrawal account must be a transaction account in a Swedish bank and include clearing and account numbers. Bankgiro or Plusgiro cannot be used as a withdrawal account.

How do I change my withdrawal account?

You can change your withdrawal account on My Pages. Click on your name in the menu, select "my details" and click on "retrieve my account number". Select the bank where you have your desired withdrawal account, identify yourself with mobile BankID and select which account you want as your withdrawal account. If you have problems changing your withdrawal account, you can send a message while logged in to get help with it.

How do I make a withdrawal from my savings account?

Log in to My Pages and select "withdrawal" in the left column.

How long does it take before I have the money in my withdrawal account?

This normally occurs within 2-3 business days.

Can I withdraw money from a fixed-rate savings account?

Yes, you can make withdrawals from a fixed-rate savings account, but it is possible with a fee of 1% of the withdrawal amount. The same applies if you want to close the account during its term.

Is there a maximum amount for how much I can withdraw?

No, but you can never withdraw more money than what is available in your savings account.

When can I make a withdrawal after making the first deposit?

For savings accounts with variable interest rates, there is no time limit for when you can make your first withdrawal. If you want to make a withdrawal from a fixed-rate savings account, it is possible for a fee of 1% of the withdrawal amount.

Can I make a withdrawal to another savings account?

No, you cannot make withdrawals directly to other savings accounts. Your withdrawal account must be a transaction account in a Swedish bank and include the clearing number and account number.

What is Finshark?

To verify withdrawal accounts, Froda uses a solution from Finshark where bank accounts are verified via mobile BankID. Finshark is a Swedish company supervised by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority.

What do I need to do to transfer money and close an account belonging to a deceased estate?

When someone passes away, a statement of holdings is automatically sent to the deceased's registered address with information about the assets the estate has with Froda. Only when the estate inventory is complete can the deceased's holdings with Froda be closed and the money paid out. In order for the money to be paid out to the estate, we need to receive the following documents:

– Closing form for deceased estates; you can find the form here.

– Power of attorney, if one person represents all the heirs or a lawyer is assisting with the closure. You can find the power of attorney here.

– Copies of ID documents for all beneficiaries of the estate or other persons entitled to inheritance by law or will who are affected by the closure of the account.

How do I make a withdrawal if I don't have mobile BankID?

If you do not have mobile BankID to verify your withdrawal account, you can send a message while logged in with proof of account from your bank that includes clearing number, account number, name and social security number.

How are my personal data handled?

How do I view my account statement?

Log in to My Pages and select the account for which you want an account statement. Then select "transactions" in the menu and enter the desired time interval for the account statement.

How do I view my annual statement?

You can download your annual statement under "documents" in the left column on My Pages.

How do I view my commitment statement?

You can download your commitment statement under "documents" in the left column on My Pages.

Information about consumer dispute resolution

We do everything we can to ensure that you as a customer are satisfied with our services. However, should a dispute arise between you and Froda that cannot be resolved by our customer service, you can submit your case to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN). Froda participates in ARN's dispute resolution procedure and follows their recommendations for cases that are tried.

How do I submit a complaint if I am dissatisfied with how you have handled my case?

To submit a complaint about how your case has been handled, email us at support@froda.se. We will review your case, clarify any uncertainties, and ensure that your comments are passed on.

What can I do if I have submitted a complaint to your customer service but am still not satisfied?

If you are still dissatisfied with the response you have received, you can send a written request to klagomal@froda.se to be dealt with by the Frodas Customer Ombudsman, who is the complaints officer at Frodas. The Customer Ombudsman will then, in an impartial manner, review your case carefully and make a new assessment. How do I verify my account?

1. Log in

Log in to My Pages.

2. My details

Click on your name in the menu and select "My details".

3. Retrieve your account number

Under "Withdrawal account," click on "Retrieve my account number."

4. Choose your preferred bank

Select the bank where you have your desired withdrawal account.

5. Identify yourself

Identify yourself and choose the account you want to use as your withdrawal account.

6. Your account is now verified

Your withdrawal account is verified, and you can withdraw money.

How do I create a savings account with Froda?

1. Open savings account

To begin registering for a savings account, click on "Open savings account."

2. Identify with BankID

After clicking "Open savings account," you will need to identify yourself with BankID. This is required to verify you and fill in your information.

3. Fill in the details

After BankID, fill in the necessary information we require. If you're unsure about anything, see above for answers to frequently asked questions.

4. Complete the customer knowledge questionnaire

Continue filling in the information we need to create your savings account. Then, press "save."

5. Choose a savings option

Choose the savings option you want: variable or fixed interest rate. Note: Check the current interest rate for each savings option.

6. Complete registration

Now you only need to press "open a new account". After this, you are done. Congratulations on your new savings account with Froda!

How do I make a withdrawal?

1. Go to "withdrawal"

Once you are logged in, look to the left in the menu and click on "withdrawal" to begin.

2. Choose savings account

Once on the withdrawal tab, click to select the savings account you want to withdraw from.

3. Choose withdrawal account

Select the account to which you want your money transferred here.

4. Specify amount

Choose the amount you want to withdraw. You can add a note here if needed.

5. Review the details

Review the completed fields to ensure you've done what you intended. Then, approve to continue.

6. You have now made a withdrawal

Great job! You have now made a withdrawal. Answers to frequently asked questions can be found above.

How do I contact customer service?

1. Messages in the menu

When logged into your savings account, you will find "messages" in the menu. Click on this to start a conversation.

2. New message

Click on "new message" to continue and write your question.

3. Fill in the boxes

Now you can fill in the subject line, for example, your question, and continue by explaining your issue in the message box.

4. Attach attachment and send

You have the option to attach a file if you wish. Then continue to ask your question by pressing "send."

5. Messages & replies

You can find your messages and replies in the menu under "My messages."
