Sneckenström

Gösta Christiansson is the entrepreneur who runs Sneckenström, an e-commerce company that focuses wholeheartedly on horticulture for everyone. With everything from seeds, fertilizers and plant lighting to its own innovation, the pallet greenhouse, Sneckenström has been brightening up people's gardens since 2008. But Gösta has been an entrepreneur for longer than that. For almost 20 years, he was active in the transportation industry before choosing to completely change paths and follow his passion for growing vegetables.

The basic idea behind Sneckenström is to get more people to experience the premium feeling of growing their own vegetables. The environment and sustainability have been in focus since the start and Gösta advocates growing naturally as far as possible. A big seller is bat guano, sold under the Grottmans brand. Guano is a natural fertilizer with a high phosphorus value that promotes budding and thus provides more and finer flowers and larger harvests of vegetables.

"I love being able to walk around and organize in the test growing facility and I've always considered chillies, tomatoes and herbs my passion. There's something luxurious about vegetables you've grown yourself. Being able to go and pick straight from your garden in the summer and cook a meal always feels the best. Then you can really stand for the craft, time and energy behind it."
